The engine doesnot skip but there is a loud ticking noise coming from the valve cover .someone said its the camshafts .well i took the cover off to see if there was anything loose or worn but nothing i could see.its really loud ticking noise so loud you can hear it from a very long distance.rev he engine up and it gets worse what can it be .the timeing chain is tight and the rockers are not loose i dont see were the cams lobes are worn down and if they were wouldnt it skip if you have any ideas please let me know the parts are hard to find plus its a rare care thank you

Motor hesitates between 2000 & 3000 RPM. Above 3000 RPM runs fine.
