Sticky steering | 2003 Honda Civic Ferio | Bridgette New Zealand, Palmerston North
The steering is not easy. Really noticeable over 50km/h. It doesn't find it's own balance once you've steered or adjusted your driving alignment on the road. Most cars it's as easy as using a couple of fingers and it steers into balance. But this car - I have to steer everywhere, all the time. I have to watch every second cause being slightly out of alignment with the road, I could end up in the ditch. Please I'm not a stupid female that thinks you can drive without looking at the road or steering. This is a genuine concern. It's very firm to move if I'm holding the steering wheel lightly, or firmly, it's still noticeably sticky. The mechanics down the road have checked it out and said they can't find anything wrong with it, but they can feel what I'm talking about when they drive it. They suggested taking it to a Honda dealer. All I can see is $$ and wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and what was the solution. I'd appreciate any comments/advice that may be helpful. Thank you :)
