I have a 1996 Bighorn , with 3.1 diesel engine and automatic gearbox. Since yesterday the car cannot pull up when on Drive once the engine get warm(driving a distance). And the check gearbox red light is on. When the engine cools down the car goes pull up without problems. We have changed the ATF oil and strainer yesterday evening in order to resolve the problem; but this morning it gives me the same problem. What can be the problem and what can be done about it. Is it a mechanical or electrical problem?; will a scan help in finding the cause of the problem?
