Acelerating from 70 kph speed zone into a 100kph speed zone I heard a soft thump, a lot of revs and a loss of foward speed. Auto was in Drive. Upon coasting to a stop I tried the auto shifter in all positions with no response. Diagnostic check indicated the auto and engine managment comouters all ok. Talked to a auto gearbox repairer, he indicated striped slines in the torque converter. Car has done 110,000kms. Purchased the car at 90,000kms, replaced the cam belt, water pump, tune up and auto was flushed out.
