The car is puffing out blue/white smoke on starting it in the morning and clears after running for some minutes. A mechanic suspected worn out valve stem seals. He removed the head and fitted the valve stem seals and replaced the head without pressure testing. The vehicle has continued to smoke and now the one plug gets wet with gasoline and the other plugs develop black soot; there is inadequate firing from the spark plugs. What could be the problem? Should I have the whole engine done or the head should be properly fitted with the valve stem seals and tested first beforeit is replaced? Now vehicle idles well on starting but quickly goes rough and stalls if not reved. On reving the buish/white smoke comes out and gradually disappears with continuous reving. Idling improves with engine temperature increase but still remains roughish.
